Your forge

llms.txt lists every page for an agent
ForgeGenerated withNeeds
GitHub--generate githubThe job’s own token. On a change from a fork that token is read-only, so the note and status are not posted.
GitLab--generate gitlabCHANT_FORGE_TOKEN, a project access token with the api scope, because a job token cannot write notes.
Forgejo--generate forgejoThe GitHub workflow in Forgejo’s dialect. It uses the job’s own token.

chant ci forge-check compares the forge’s branch protection and each cloud’s trust with what the pipeline needs. On GitLab and Forgejo, set ci.green.source to runs, because they have no check-run reader. Green commits.

With no forge runner, chant ci serve polls the forge and runs the jobs on a host you provide:

Terminal window
chant ci serve --forge github --repo acme/app --env prod

The forge token comes from the environment. The limits:

  • --forge takes github, forgejo or git. GitLab is refused.
  • Polling runs every 30 seconds by default. --interval changes that.
  • Each job runs on the host as the user running chant ci serve, with no container, and the plan runs the change’s code. Serve only repositories whose authors you trust with the host’s credentials.
  • A change from a fork is never planned.
  • --forge git has no changes to plan and sets no commit status. The branch moves only through land branches and direct pushes.

ci serve has every flag.
